The Worth and District Branch of the Royal British Legion is pleased to announce that the total amount collected during the recent Poppy Appeal period was £16,500.

The Branch thanks all those who allowed collecting boxes to be stationed at their premises to receive contribution from generous customers.  This is greatly appreciated.  May we also thank the Volunteers who collected door to door and at the railway station and supermarkets where travellers and shoppers gave generously.  These contributions are very important in that they help to meet the continuing welfare needs of ex-Service women and men.

Turning to internal matters, the Branch held its Christmas Lunch at Rowfant House on Tuesday 5th December.  This is the major annual social event for members and guests, where we also remember former comrades who are no longer with us.  Every aspect of the event was of a very high standard.  A total of fifty members and guests attended.
