Tuesday Teas Report 2006 PDF Print E-mail

During the year we have kept all our loyal members, and added a few more.  Everyone seems to enjoy their Tuesday afternoons in the Church Hall.  There is always plenty of laughter, chat, card playing and a very serious game of scrabble going on.  Sincere thanks must go to the team of ladies who provide the cakes and raffle prizes, and given unstintingly of their time.  Without them, we would not be able to continue.  Thanks also go to the ca drivers who give lifts when needed – all very much appreciated.  We have managed to get out and about more this year, hiring a 25 seater coach for our outings.  There have been day trips to Eastbourne and to Worthing, and a mystery tour finishing at the Roundstone Garden Centre in Littlehampton.  In March we had a pub lunch at the Oyster Catcher in Climping and another in October at the Roundstone Inn, Littlehampton.  Tuesday Teas has also had a couple of very enjoyable meetings/services with Naomi’s Friends in St. John’s Church followed by tea and cakes.  The year will end as usual with out Christmas Lunch in December.

At the suggestion of one of our members, instead of sending Christmas Cards to each other, we collected the money to buy mosquito nets which are desperately needed by children in Africa (last year we purchased two goats!).

Should anyone reading this article like to join Tuesday Teas, we meet on the first, third and fifth Tuesday of the month and the cost is £1 per meeting. Please telephone me on 01342 716870 if you would like further details.
