Immediately prior to our November 6th meetings, we were pleased to welcome the chairman of Mid Sussex District Council, Dr. Edward King, who spoke to the members of his wish to ensure that the views of all parts of Mid Sussex are taken note of by the District Council and to listen to our concerns and opinions. It is not surprising that we made clear to him our need for continued support from the District in improving our sports and recreational facilities, especially as our playing field is in Surrey! as well as our concerns regarding lack of infrastructure and the fear of large, inappropriate housing developments “swamping” our village. Dr. King was very encouraging and stayed to listen to the meetings of the Council and the Planning Committee.
More information about all the workings of the Council can be found in the Worth Parish Council newsletter, published quarterly, which is available free in the village shops. The Council noticeboard, opposite Londis, and the Parish Council website carry details of meetings and other announcements.
