Copthorne Chapel Apart from St. John's Parish Church, there are four other places of worship in and around Copthorne. The oldest is the Copthorne's Countess of Huntingdon Chapel , which first started meeting in a barn in 1822. A stonebuilt chapel was built within two months in 1827, for a sum of £300.
The current minister at Copthorne Chapel is Pastor Gordon Hamilton . Copthorne Convent There is also a Roman Catholic congregation that meets in the Franciscan Convent .
Copthorne's Sisters are part of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of Littlehampton. Until recently it was covered by the priest from St. Edward's Pound Hill, in Crawley, but since that parish was united with the Crawley Town Centre Parish based at the Friary, the team of priests from there provide for the services. There is still a main Saturday evening Mass held here each week.
Rowfant House Chapel The third place of worship in Copthorne is at Rowfant House. It is the home of the London Latvian Lutheran Church, and their pastor is Rev. Eliza Zikmane
Often described as an Elizabethan Manor House, for over a hundred years Rowfant was owned by the Lampson and Locker-Lampson families. (Jane Lampson was the driving force behind the building of St. John's Copthorne in 1877.) The House has been owned for the last 30 years by the Latvian Lutheran Society, and there is a Chapel that is supported by the London Latvian Lutheran congregation. The Chapel and House are available for weddings.
Copthorne Prep School Chapel There is also a chapel in Copthorne Prep School, which is used for regular daily assemblies. Local clergy are among those invited as guest preachers at the school.
