Copthorne is a village straddling the border between Surrey and Sussex, due South of London, half way to Brighton, separated from the town of Crawley by the M23 motorway. It is the most northerly parish in the Diocese of Chichester, the Church of England Diocese that covers East and West Sussex. The population is in the region of 7,000, and there are over 200 small businesses in and around the village. The biggest employer in the village is the Copthorne Hotel.
